...Is there some implication here for reliabilism? <br /><br />If the generality problem cannot be solved, then what are we to make of the notion of reliability? The closest thing to a solution to the generality problem I've encountered is Alston's - but his solution is of no epistemic use to present inquirers. There are a couple of ways for there not to be hope. One of these, the darkest one, is despair. The brightest one is that there is no more need for hope (heaven).
