Because maybe those people who have made promises for millennia have done so because they had an expectational view.Walter Van den Ackerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16101735542155226072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3891434218564545511.post-7996400113786995122015-04-04T19:11:42.951-05:002015-04-04T19:11:42.951-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Alexander R Prusshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05989277655934827117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3891434218564545511.post-32972866041365372852015-04-04T18:14:53.314-05:002015-04-04T18:14:53.314-05:00God might not grant a benefit if he foresees Pal w...God might not grant a benefit if he foresees Pal won't keep the vow. Scanlon argues that though this is a deviant case, you can explain the obligation in terms of the benefit induced. So even if God knows that you aren't going to follow through, if God would not have granted a benefit if not for the vow, that could be the reason for keeping the promise.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07360187278478229067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3891434218564545511.post-75476254621899560112015-04-04T13:19:05.830-05:002015-04-04T13:19:05.830-05:00People have done it for millennia!
