Certainly not the way their flesh and blood friends did. In "2001: A Space Odyssey", HAL 9000 was not happy about being deactivated, but there is no indication that HAL 9000 felt any pain. Fear maybe yes. An HAL 9000 acts like he's had a nervous breakdown, but a nervous breakdown like a human? I think his programing got hit by a paradox and his programers never anticipated this glitch. I don't think the Cylons in Battlestar Galactica felt any pain either. I certainly don't think my laptop is capable of feeling pain.
