See here: http://calibre-ebook.com/download

This will allow you to take any e-book format and change it to another. So, for example, you can change your .pdf books to a .mobi extension. A mobi extension can be read on a Kindle device. (I use Calibre a lot because of one website that offers free epub books. I take the epub books and convert them to mobi.)Jarrett Cooperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17191046219215006345noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3891434218564545511.post-78728812246728179462012-01-02T19:10:44.104-06:002012-01-02T19:10:44.104-06:00I have no problems with reading pdfs with APV ( ht...I have no problems with reading pdfs with APV ( http://code.google.com/p/apv ) on my Archos 4.3 with a 4.3" screen. I can read a pdf book in portrait--I just zoom in so the margins disappear. It's slightly uncomfortable, especially for smaller font text (e.g., block quotes), so I rotate to landscape, and then it's very comfortable. I looked at a pdf with APV on my wife's Kindle Fire, and a full-page view looked beautiful to me.

APV is the pdf viewer that I contribute code to. It's slim and fast, but it lacks highlighting and bookmarking (I hope to fix the latter eventually).Alexander R Prusshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05989277655934827117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3891434218564545511.post-48045003130737664912012-01-02T18:45:51.233-06:002012-01-02T18:45:51.233-06:00How is the Fire at reading pdf books and documents...How is the Fire at reading pdf books and documents. After all, how can God (who is already absolutely infinite) create new things if he is already all of those things? Am I misunderstanding God's infinitness?
In your opinion, can good and evil behavior be explained purely in terms of in-group and out-group behavior?
ThanksSamihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03649613938638506260noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3891434218564545511.post-7332254480378637312011-12-19T15:50:32.736-06:002011-12-19T15:50:32.736-06:00Alexander R Pruss said...

I was too impatient to wait until Christmas).

As the name hints, the slightest touch will bring about some change on the screen. I have pretty slender fingers (which is good for typing, highlighting, and pressing down on a word), and have learned to hold the device in such a way that I don't touch the screen when reading (other than to change the page).

What makes the Kindle Touch better than the Kindle for $79 (not sure what they call that one) is the fact it is a touch. To get the definition of a word all you have to do is press down on the word for a second. On the $79 Kindle you have to scroll to the word and then hit enter to get the definition (very time consuming). Also the virtual keyboard on the Kindle Touch saves a lot of time as well. Makes doing annotations easy, along with any other typing involved--searching a book, word, Web, or the Kindle store.

Though you can use the Internet with the Kindle Touch, it is not really designed to do so (It's not its proper function do so :)- ). It's certainly not a tablet or really even tablet-esque. Reading text is what the Kindle Touch is made for.Jarrett Cooperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17191046219215006345noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3891434218564545511.post-31597461988385483792011-12-18T17:41:02.588-06:002011-12-18T17:41:02.588-06:00My daughter is getting a Kindle Touch for Christma...My daughter is getting a Kindle Touch for Christmas. I'm impressed by the eink technology. Less strain on the eyes.
