Josh Rasmussen's and my Necessary Existence (OUP) book is out, both in Europe and in the US. I wish the price was much lower. The authors don't have a say over that, I think.
The great cover was designed by Rachel Rasmussen (Josh's talented artist wife).

ReplyDeleteYou should find out! I think a lot more people would buy the book at a more reasonable price.
Congrats!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, congratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Alex. Very excited to read this.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Will buy, but first I’ll have to get through the PSR one that arrived a few weeks ago...
ReplyDeleteHello Dr Pruss,
ReplyDeleteI am currently enjoying your book on the Principle of Sufficient Reason. I've ordered your book on Necessary Existence and look forward to reading it next.
A question however - does the book discuss the modal ontological argument? I figure it may be touched on because it relates to the necessary existence of God. Also would you recommend any other resources on the ontological argument? Or one that gives perhaps the most comprehensive yet readable discussion of the subject (I am not a professional philosopher)? I really want to understand it better.
There is a chapter on a modal ontological argument.
ReplyDeleteGraham Oppy has an anthology on the ontological argument forthcoming, too.
The Stanford Encyclopedia entry on the ontological argument may be helpful, too.
