Weapons

Isn't it curious that we talk of "bow and arrow" as a unit but not "gun and cartridge" or "crossbow and bolt"?

It is pretty weird... I think it's just that we never think about the cartridge or the bolt; we somehow think that the gun or crossbow on its own is deadly. Whereas with bows and arrows, they are often stored, carried, and spoken of separately.... Very interesting.

I remember many many years ago when I had this copy of Mad Magazine back in the 1980's. There was a spoof done on Conan the Barbarian. Conan was trying to shoot snakes at the bad guys. He was using "boa arrows". :)

I've got to get out and shoot my "boa arrows", or is it my "bone marrows"?
